Karen O'Sullivan, now Karen Griffiths, was born and raised in County Kerry. Karen left Kerry in 1999 to pursue a career in the hospitality industry. Coming to America with about 10 years of experience under her belt, she found herself waiting tables and serving pints in a local pub where she met her husband, Anselm Griffiths. Through a lot of hard work and with the help of some really good friends they opened O'Sullivan's Irish Pub in Arlington, VA on September 15th, 2006.
They decided to name the pub O'Sullivan's after Karen's maiden name. In the Irish language O'Sullivan translates to "Ni Suileabháin" which means "hawk-eyed". They both now are trying to keep a "hawk eye" on their businesses.
Since opening the pub the two have been quite busy. They now have 2 childen; a boy, Liam and a baby girl, Ciara (Kee-ra). They just recently opened a second location in Herndon, VA. Herndon is a great location that they have both been working very hard to build their new business.
Both Karen and Anselm would like to welcome anyone reading this to come in to one of their locations and "...experience the hospitality that made Ireland famous".
